Frequently Asked Questions about the 2007 Great Allentown Fair
When and where is the Fair?
The 155th Fair runs Tuesday August 28, through Labor Day Monday September 3, 2007.
The Fair is located between 17th and 21st streets and Liberty and Chew streets in Allentown. Click here to get directions to the Fair.
What are the hours of the Fair?
Tuesday, August 28 - 4 p.m. to Midnight
Wednesday, August 29 thru Sunday, September 2 - Noon to Midnight
Labor Day Monday, September 3 - Noon to 11 p.m.
How much does it cost to get into the Fair?
Admission to the Fair is $6 for persons age 12 and over, under age 12 - ALWAYS FREE! Seniors, 65 and older with ID, pay $4 after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29. Everyone is admitted FREE on Preview Night Tuesday, August 28 from 4 p.m. to Midnight and on Wednesday, August 29 from Noon to 2 p.m., Thursday, August 30 from Noon to 2 p.m., and Friday, August 31 from Noon to 2 p.m. Advance Fair Admission Tickets may be purchased for only $4 before August 29. All entertainment is included in Fair admission EXCEPT the tickets for the S & S Amusements Midway and the Grandstand Concerts.
Is there parking available onsite?
Parking is available on site through Gate 7 off of Liberty Street. Cost is $7 per vehicle during the Allentown Fair. Click here for map of grounds. Off-site parking is available in lots surrounding the fairgrounds. These lots are run by individual businesses and are not associated with the Fair.
Is there bus service?

Is there a car rental company in the area?
Enterprise has locations at The Lehigh Valley Airport and in Allentown close to the fairgrounds. Call 1-800-rentacar or visit www.enterprise.com and use Code #57DEGAF, Pin gre to get a special Fair rate.

Are pets allowed on the grounds?
Only Service (Assistance) dogs are allowed on the grounds.

How do I purchase concert tickets for the grandstand shows?
Tickets can be purchased at the Fair Box Office and through Ticketmaster online, Ticketmaster phone lines, and at Ticketmaster outlets.

Do I have to pay a service charge when purchasing concert grandstand tickets?
There are no service charges on tickets purchased in person at the Fair Box Office. The standard Ticketmaster service charges apply when purchasing tickets through Ticketmaster.
Where does the line form for Festival-style standing concerts?
On the east end of the race track leading into the concert venue. Access to this is from the infield parking lot or from the entrance to the parking lot that is located on 4th Avenue as noted on the fairgrounds map distributed at all fair entrances.
Is alcohol served inside the concert venue?
There is no alcohol served inside the concert venue. Alcohol is served to persons 21 and over inside the Maingate Night Club and Party Patio (Bier Garten) located near Gate 8 inside the fairgrounds.
Can I bring a camera or video recorder to the concerts?
There are no recording devices allowed inside the concert venue. Still cameras are only allowed by approval of the performing artist. To inquire if cameras are allowed for a specific concert, you must call 610-435-SHOW on the day of the show.
Is a concert cancelled or rescheduled if it is raining?
All concerts and events are held rain or shine!
Does my child need a ticket to the concerts?
A child under the age of two does not need a ticket if he or she sits on the parent's lap.
May I pick up my tickets at the Box Office?
Tickets can be picked at the Will Call Booth if that option is selected while purchasing tickets online through Ticketmaster ONLY. Tickets can be picked up with photo ID and confirmation number three hours before show time.
Does my concert ticket include admission to the fair?
All concert tickets purchased in advance of the show date include admission into the Fair.
How do I enter items for judging and blue ribbons into the Fair?

Is there an ATM on the grounds?
Yes there are two ATMs on site located in the Grandstand Building and Main Exhibit Building. Click here for a map of the grounds.

Are there wheelchair and/or stroller rentals on the grounds?
There is a concessionare on the grounds that rents wheelchairs, strollers and wagons. It ios located inside Gate 1, on 17th & Chew streets.
Are there pay phones on the grounds?
Yes, there is one located in Agri-Plex.
Where do you find medical attention at the Fair?
The St. Lukes Health Star Van offers first aid services and a diaper station.
Is re-admission to the fairgrounds allowed?
Upon leaving the fairgrounds, no re-admission is allowed.
Is tailgating allowed on the grounds?
Tailgating is not allowed.
Where do you find general information during the fair?
There are two InFAIRmation booths located on the fairgrounds - one is on the east end of the grounds and the other is on the west side of the grounds. Click here for a map that shows locations of the InFAIRmation booths.
Where do lost people and items go?
The Lost & Found is located near Gate 2 on the fairgrounds. Click here for a map that shows the location of the Lost & Found.
Are there opportunities for temporary employment at The Great Allentown Fair?
The Fair hires temporary help for several positions including ticket cashiers, ticket takers, display attendants as well as agricultural and livestock positions. The Fair does not hire workers for the carnival or the concession stands. The Fair's employment office is located in a trailer on the fairgrounds at Gate 2 at Chew and St. Cloud Streets. The office opens one week prior to the first day of the Fair. Applicants must be 18 or older and must have two forms of valid identification preferably a government issued photo ID and a social security card.
