There are two main divisions of the EvE Fleet Management Tool (EFMT), an In-Game Browser (IGB) section and an Out-Of Game (OOG) section.
The tool is useful for Faction Warfare, Low sec and Zero sec corporations and Alliances. PvP fleet engagements have become the mainstay of the more excitable gameplay in Eve Online. Some cases have been termed "Blob Warfare" (100+ ship engagements) to simple 20 pilot skirmishes. No matter the size of the fleet you are in, there is no doubt that poor organization and control of a fleet can spell certain disaster for all pilots involved. This is why I decided to create this tool.
The tool's history
There is no point in trying to hide the fact (as it is widely known) that the Caldari is the largest faction to date, but possibly the most disorganized. Because of this, I took some much needed training myself, with
Agony Unleashed. I will say that they are well organized and their training classes are worth every bit of hard-earned ISK I paid. They are the originators of this tool, however different it may be, but I have gone from memory on its functionality when creating this tool. I now offer this tool to whoever can afford it.
IGB Section
The fleet tool is web-based and accessible via the IGB and is in the final stages of coding. Testing is being performed during the entire process and so far there are three stable pages, the login for FCs, the pilot form for inputting your pilot's name, ship and important modules (i.e. EWAR and remote repping) and the third page is the fleet tool's overview. The overview screen will give quick access to all in the fleet, with totals for ships and their loadouts.

OOG Section
The EFMT Administration area is only accessibly OOG, via any modern browser that allows JavaScript and CSS. This portion of the tool makes use of AJAX, to make the admin area very quick and lightweight. There are five choices that can be made from the menu: Change Settings, Add a Commander, Delete a Commander, Change a Password and Review a Fleet.

The final stages of pre-launch testing include input from testers, regarding cost for the tool. Now I have given thought to those successful corps and players and will definitely offer payment options in ISK. Real life money will also be accepted via PayPal. The application and database are being hosted by a reliable third-party vendor and access will be given to paid subscribers for a quarterly, semi-annual or annual fee. No it's NOT going to cost some outrageous amount of money, but realize that the ISK amount will be an equivalent RL value (i.e. Game Time Code pricing). The RL subscription fees will primarily go to paying for the hosting of the servers and to further the research involved in creating upgrades to the existing tool. ISK will relieve RL costs for playing the game (my own GTC purchases), thereby allowing RL funds to pay for the servers instead.
Upon tool launch, all pre-existing test accounts will be closed. When a major enhancement is available for tool upgrade, notification will be sent out to all prior testers (as well as notification on the Eve-O forums) that an open period of testing is available.
Tool Updates
04/04/09 - Color Scheme selections have been added to the tool and are controlled by the settings option of the Admin area.
03/30/09 - I am happy to report that the Administration area is now in an early state of completion!
02/20/09 - Multiple fleet capability has been integrated.
* Login page now has fleet status for multiple fleet clients.
* In-space notification of pilot status now uses nearest location info.
02/10/09 - The FC Registration option has been removed from the login screen, for OOG access only.
* The pilot info page has the Scout and 2ndFC options added.
* The overview screen has been expanded. Part one of this expansion was to add pilots' current locations to the overview, with auto-refresh. Part two is that there are now three main overview options available. Due to opinions voiced on the EvE-Online forums, there are now links to two other flavors of the overview page: "No Icons" and "Pilot Status Only". Unfortunately, this does require page loads (sigh) of the IGB. Optional corporation branding has also been added to the pages.

Beta testing of the current fleet tool (IGB version 0.6) is actively underway. Please contact me via eve-mail (Dirk Garret), so I can give you the login page link. You will then be given other instructions on how to make use of the fleet tool for you and your pilots. Thanks for reading and safe pew-pew.
